About us
We provide a enthusiastic, positive , and professional setting for your goaltender to reach their potential and enjoy the process along the way!
Our Mission
Our goal is for goalies to learn how to move as efficient as possible around their “Home Base” also known as the crease. With increasing their skill level and crease management, goalies that take part in the State of Mind Goaltending School will become more confident, efficient, reactive and begin to enjoy the position and the game more and more. We strive to make our students the best goalie they can be improving their all-around game. We want our goalies to be able to enjoy the position as much as possible. Goalies are the backbone of any team – and by providing them with the skills and confidence they need, they will become a valuable asset to their team and form a new love for the game.
Drew MacIntyre
Drew was born and raised in Stratford Prince Edward Island. He moved away at the age of 15 and played a season of Ontario Jr.A before being drafted 8th overall to the Sherbrooke Castors of the QMJHL where he played for four seasons. He was drafted in the 4th round in the NHL entry draft by the Detroit Red Wings and went on to have an 18-year professional career. His career saw him play in the NHL with 3 different teams (Toronto, Vancouver, Buffalo), AHL (10 different teams), ECHL (2 teams). He also had a successful international career with stops in the KHL, top leagues in Germany, Austria, Slovakia, and Japan.
He had the privilege of representing Canada on 4 separate occasions (Under 18, Spengler Cup) bringing home gold on 3 of those occasions. He is also ranked in the top 10 in all time wins in AHL history. Drew had the privilege to work with some of the most respected and successful goalie coaches in the world and by doing so, it became apparent to him that he had a passion for passing along this knowledge and to help the next generation of goalies.
In whatever he does he believes you should tackle it with hard work, enthusiasm, respect, and gratefulness. Drew could not operate this school or have had the career that he has had without the love and assistance from his amazing wife Karen and awesome daughters Mullen and Sallie.
